Since its inception in 1996, Oxigenesis has specialized in developing unique oxygen-enhanced formulations for the nutritional, cosmeceutical, industrial and household markets. Our products are distributed under the trade names of our customers around the globe.
Our core product is ASO® (Activated Stabilized Oxygen), a proprietary liquid oxygen solution with a remarkable range of applications across a growing list of fields and industries.
While ASO® has been around for almost 30 years, the roots of the technology go back to the 1950's. The original Activated Stabilized Oxygen was created by an aerospace process control engineer for a government research program. It was not until the early 1990's that the solution was actually reformulated as an alternative disinfectant to replace chlorine in waste water treatment applications. Prior to the creation of ASO®, the only practical oxygen-based alternatives to chlorine were either ozone or chlorine dioxide (sodium chlorite).
Both of these alternatives had drawbacks. Ozone was expensive to produce and maintain, and the molecules have short life spans, making them impractical for long-term use. Chlorine dioxide, on the other hand, was a highly stable molecule, but was very alkaline and thus caustic to organic matter—making it dangerous to store, ship and handle in concentrated states.
The new paradigm for water treatment was a solution containing stable oxygen molecules (O2) bonded together to form activated O4 molecules in very high concentration. This patented technology was the result of the experiments of the original aerospace engineer. The solution he created is the same remarkable Activated Stabilized Oxygen (ASO®) we know today.
We're giving back.
Although we spend a good amount of time focused on research and development, we're always looking for ways to give back. In 2015 we kicked off our Annual Scholarship Program to help students pursue their career goals in the fields of science.
